These past two years our Parish, along with St. Francis of Assisi, has raised money to support the “Mission of Hope” organization which builds houses, and village “support buildings” in the Honduras. A parishioner from St. Francis travels to the Honduras each February, and spends a month there helping to construct the buildings. Last year we were able to pay for one house, and this year we raised enough for nearly two. This kind of assistance provides empowerment to these people as they learn the skills they need to be independent and self-sustaining.
