Our Catechists work hard to share our Faith and their time with your students in a comfortable, loving class setting; however, parent involvement is critical to their learning and we work together with families as a team to bring them up in the Faith. Parents are asked to spend time at home discussing and sharing the weekly lessons, and to bring their children to the Liturgy each weekend so children will make the connections and relate to the concepts taught.
Along with regular classes, our Sacramental programs for families are held in Grade 2 for First Communion, Grade 4 for Reconciliation, and a two year Confirmation Program for students grade 7 and above. Students must have attended classes the preceding years to take part in the Sacramental program. Additional Components:
• Younger children are invited to attend the Children’s Liturgy of the Word on Sundays during the 10:00 AM Mass. During the Readings, Gospel and Homily, the children are led out to hear and discuss the Gospel at their own level of understanding.
• Children are invited to participate in Christian Service by bringing a non perishable food item to Mass which they bring up at the Offertory along with the gifts, Along with assisting our Emergency Food Pantry, children become aware of the needs in the world around them and come to appreciate the blessings and opportunities they have been given.
